Bazel "Dick" Knowles, 83, of the Four Seasons Community died Saturday at St. Thomas Rutherford in Murfreesboro. He was a member of Indian Mound The Baptist Church and a 50 year Mason and Past Master and Past Patron of the Eastern Star. He was also retired from Nashville Electric Service.
The funeral was held Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home.
Dwight Knowles and Chris Moore will officiated with burial following in the Snow Hill Methodist Cemetery.
A Masonic service was held Monday at 7:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home.
Knowles was preceded in death by his parents, Wilse and Charlie Summers Knowles; three grandchildren, Jeremy and Joshua Knowles, and Christopher Winters; daughter-in-law, Barbara Knowles; sister, Elizabeth Knowles; and two brothers, Eston and Jessie Lewis "Dude" Knowles. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mary Louise Bryant Knowles of Smithville. Two sons, Richard and Betty Knowles of Goodlettsville and Barry Knowles of Joelton. Two daughters, Sherry and Ronnie Watts of Lebanon, Becky Cowan of Smithville, and custodial daughter, Jeanine and Grant Gardner of Lebanon. Four grandchildren, Ryan and Shara Cowan of Smithville, April and Jeremy Basham of Lebanon, Nathan Knowles of Joelton, and Maria and Jeremy Conley of Mt. Juliet. Thirteen great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, and cousins survive.
Pallbearers included; Jeremy Basham, Ronnie Watts, Terry, Lavoy, Barry, and Ricky Knowles, Tristan and Connor Basham.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to the Snow Hill Methodist Cemetery.
Love-Cantrell Funeral Home, was in charge of the arrangements.
