Beecher Ballew, Jr. age 80 of Smithville, passed away Thursday night, October 27, 2016 at NHC HealthCare in Smithville. He was born December 3, 1935 to his parents, the late Beecher Renzo and Mary Young Ballew.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 4 brothers, Walter C., Finley, Jack, and Bobby Ballew and 1 sister, Thelma Dobbs.
Junior was a Baptist and was retired from Kingston Timers.
Survivors include 2 children, Hank (Charolette Caldwell) Ballew of Clarksville, Marie Daws (Jimmy "Bo") Barrett of Smithville; 7 grandchildren, Tressa Kaye Ballew, Hank (Lisa Shane) Ballew, Jr., Brad (Holly) Williams, Keisha (Tony) Smith, Nikki Daws Barrett, Stephen (Vickey) Barrett and Bradley Barrett; 4 great-grandchildren, Nicholas (Cainey Bailey) Ballew, Gavin and Tyler Williams and Zackery Smith; mother of his children, Mable Ballew Davis; sister, Gladys Davis of Adamsville, AL; special friend, Dorothy McCormick of Smithville and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday, October 30, 2016 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Bro. Michael Hale officiated with burial following in DeKalb Cemetery.
Pallbearers included; Tyler Williams, Gavin Williams, Zackery Smith, Tony Smith, Bradley Barrett, and Stephen Barrett.
DeKalb Funeral Chapel Home, was in charge of the arrangements.
