Bettie “Lene” Frantz, age 83, of East Leroy passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2023.

She was born August 25, 1939 in Smithville, the daughter of Emerson W. and Jewel T. (Adcock) Jones.

Bettie was a graduate of Gull Lake High School and worked at the Kellogg Company for over 25 years, retiring in 1996. She bowled in numerous leagues in the Battle Creek area throughout the years and enjoyed gardening, especially flower gardening. Bettie was a talented seamstress who enjoyed knitting and crafts of all types. Her greatest passion was laughter – sitting with friends and family, telling stories to tickle any funny bone. Bettie had great escapades with dear friends Ann Frantz and Cheryl Goss.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Geneva Jones.

She is survived by her two daughters, Christina L. (Dan Shepherd) Frantz of Carroll, Ohio and Melinda L. (Hunter) Frantz-Dodge of East Leroy, Michigan; two grandchildren, Nicole Sheerer of Pasadena, Maryland and Matthew A. Sheerer of Battle Creek, Michigan; sister, Ann (Ray) Garrett of Battle Creek, Michigan; brother, Bill Jones of Smithville; several nieces and nephews, and former husband, David E. Frantz.

A Memorial Service was held Monday, February 13, 2023, at the Richard A. Henry Funeral.

Memorial contributions may be given to Evergreen Senior Care and Rehab Center.

Richard A. Henry Funeral Home, Michigan, was in charge of the arrangements.
