Billie Braswell Simpson, age 85, of Smithville passed away Friday, May 12, 2023 at Alive Hospice in Murfreesboro.

She was born September 25, 1937 to her parents, the late Edgar and Ora Hale Anderson. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by husbands, Franklin Braswell, George Bing, Ray Simpson; brothers, Clifton Melton and Charles Anderson; sister, Irene Roberts.

Ms. Billie was member of New Life United Pentecostal Church and worked in Landscaping and was a homemaker.

She is survived by three children, Dallas (Beth) Braswell of Murfreesboro, Anita Braswell of Smithville, and Michelle (Shane) Walker of Smithville; five grandchildren, Stacey Wood and Kelly Chapman of Smithville, Chloe Braswell of Cookeville, Thomas Braswell and Michael Braswell of Murfreesboro; six great-grandchildren also survive; brother, E L (Brenda) Anderson of Liberty; sister, Fay Armstrong of Woodbury.

Funeral service was held Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Dwayne Cornelius, Bro. Keith Huling and Dallas Braswell officiating and burial followed in DeKalb Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers included Stan Melton, Stephen Smotherman, Trey Smotherman, Jack Armstrong, Eddie Lee Anderson, and Thomas Braswell.

DeKalb Funeral Chapel, Smithville, was in charge of arrangements.
