Billy D. Crymes, 63
Billy Crymes

Billy D. Crymes, age 63, of Smithville joined Christ in his Heavenly home on Saturday July 22, 2023.  He was at home surrounded by family and friends.

He attended the Old Fashioned Freewill Baptist Church and loved his church family very much.  Billy worked in construction and at the DeKalb County Landfill and was a volunteer fireman for many years.  He received an honorary lifetime membership to the DeKalb County Fire Department in 2014.

Billy had a love for everyone and a light about him that made everyone love him.  He was always full of life and spread joy to all who knew him.  He never met a stranger.  There is no way to list all of you, but if you were lucky enough to meet him, then know he considered you his friend.  He loved and cherished his wife, family and dog, Pepperjack with his whole heart.  Pa Billy will always be deeply missed, but we rejoice in knowing he found peace in his Father's arms.

Billy was born April 8, 1960, to his parents, the late Roy O. and Norma Jean Keller Crymes.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Randy Matthews; nephew, Peyton Arnold and special friend Mary Lou Bennett.

He is survived by his loving wife, Jeannette Crymes; sisters, Kathy Matthews and Penny and Donny Arnold; children, Jennifer and Jimmy Smallwood, William and Shelby Hale, Sherry and Derrick Satterfield, Michael and Rachel Lawrence, Louise and Glenn Ferrell; grandchildren, Kirkland and Bri Smallwood, Karson Smallwood, Dakota, William D., Helen and Samantha Hale, Jennifer and Micah Sanders, Harley Lawrence, Steven and Kelsey Lawrence, Rebecca Cooprider, Lucian Freeman, Raven and Joseph Jenkins; great-grandchildren, Rhydian and Alice Smallwood, Madison Pelham, Andrew Johnson, Gunnar Easterwood, Juliann, Kayden and Raelyn Lawrence, Adonis and Cecilynn Cooprider; nieces and nephews, Haven and Jordan Boyles, Leslie and Alex Kopischke; great-nephews, Taylor and Conrad Boyles; special friends, Darrell and Jenny Adkins, Keith Bennett and Shirley Williams.
