Funeral services for Billy Phillips Sr., 80, of Smithville, were held Sept. 15 at the chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Bro. Burnes Lyons, Wade Smith, Steve Officer and Jackie Smith officiated with burial following in DeKalb Cemetery.   
Mr. Phillips passed away Sept. 11 at his residence. He worked at Snow Hill receiving Station of DeKalb County Landfill.    
He was preceded in death by his parents Chauncie Depew and Julie League Phillips.   
Survivors include his two sons and daughters-in-law Billy League Phillips Jr. and special daughter-in-law Sue and Danny Ray Phillips Sr. and wife Libby, both of Smithville; daughter Julia Louise Owens of Smithville; two brothers Walter C. Phillips of Smithville and Jimmy and Elaine Phillips of Maryland; grandchildren Tracy Lamont Phillips of South Carolina, Ikie and Donda Phillips of Lascassas, Derek and LeAnn Dibrell of Sparta, Tyrone Dewayne Owens of Smithville, Michael Chad Owens of Smithville, Anna Cherise Phillips of Smyrna and Danny Ray Phillips Jr. of Cookeville; and great-grandchildren Kyler, Chloe, Tevin, Tyra, Chelsi, Taniesha, Corey and Adaeze.
Serving as pallbearers were Mike Foster, Lee Foster, Shawn Tubbs, Lee Fisk, William C. Tubbs, Walter K. Tubbs and Anthony Tubbs.
Flower girls were Vickey Gwynn, Tammy Reynolds, Tonia Dilligard, Racheal Evans, Shirley Reedy and Gennelle Reid.
Love-Cantrell Funeral Home, Smithville, was in charge of the arrangements.
