Funeral services for Bobby Colvert, 79, of Dowelltown were held April 9 at the chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Bro. Thurman Seber, Bro. Richard Williams and Bro. Bobby Thomason officiated with burial following at the entombment at DeKalb Memorial Gardens.   
Mr. Colvert passed away April 5 at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville. He earned his Masters of Divinity from Southern Baptist Seminary and later founded Covenant Baptist Church here in Smithville. He served as an Evangelist/Minister for 50 years, was an owner/operator of a local business in Smithville, and a farmer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Obadiah and Bessie Lee Baker Colvert; wife, Barbara Colvert; and a brother, James Bass Colvert.
Survivors include his two children, John (Karen) Colvert of Murfreesboro and Lou Ann (Steve) White of Smithville; six grandchildren, Kelly Colvert and Matt Wiley, Jason Baker Colvert, Grant Colvert, all of Murfreesboro, Camry Lou Colvert White, Carlee Colvert White and Chloe Colvert White, all of Smithville; three great-grandchildren, Kaylin Colvert Wiley, Lyla Dawn Wiley and Piper Ann Wiley, all of Murfreesboro; a brother, Freddy and Linda Colvert of Smithville; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Betty Herndon of Smithville, Bill Baker of Cassville and Mary Louise Fitzgerald of Lafayette, Ind.
Pallbearers included Jason Baker Colvert, Grant Ian Colvert, Josh Kerley, Matt Wiley, Steve Colvert, Bill Baker, Larry Johnson and Jewell Johnson.
Serving as honorary pallbearers were Camry Lou Colvert, Carlee Colvert, Chloe Colvert White and Kelly Colvert Wiley.
Love-Cantrell Funeral Home, Smithville, was in charge of the arrangements.
