Funeral services for Brassie Lou England Young, 70, of Sparta  were held Feb. 7  at Bear Cove Baptist Church. Frank Randolph and Jerry Pullum officiated, with burial following at Indian Mound Cemetery.
She passed away Feb. 3 at Life Care Center of Sparta.
Brassie was born March 12, 1943 in Putnam County to the late John and Ivor Burgess England.
She retired from Thomas Industries after 46 years of employment. She was a member of Bear Cove Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by eight brothers and two sisters.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Oscar Young, Jr.; son, Jeff (Kim) Young of Sparta; granddaughter, Maelybeth Young of Sparta; sister, Sylvia Farmer and Dennis of Sparta; brothers, Johnny England and Frances of McMinnville, Ivan England and Pat of Crossville, Talmadge England and Elaine of Ozark, Alabama, and Ernest D. England and Lillian of Sparta; sisters-in-law, Edmonda Stephens of Sparta, Dora and Dan Cummings of Sparta, Nora Young of Smithville, and Elsie Young of Sparta; brother-in-law, Carl Young of Goleta, California; several nieces and nephews also survive.
She was cared for and loved her family and caregiver, Barbara Parrish.
Hunter Funeral Home, Sparta, was in charge of arrangements.
