Brenda Puckett Vanderpool of Smithville passed away Nov. 17 at St. Thomas West Hospital in Nashville.  She was born December 29, 1946 to the late Houston and Myrtis Moore Puckett. 

 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Vanderpool and one brother, Marvin Puckett. 

 

Brenda was a faithful member and Sunday School teacher at the Smithville Church of God, was retired from retail sales and a homemaker.

 

She is survived by two children, Reed (Julia) Vanderpool of Smithville and Melissa (Philip) Wallace of Smithville; Five grandchildren, Emily, Harper, and Liam Wallace, Chloe Cantrell and Julian Vanderpool; 1 brother, Darwin (Delores) Puckett of Lebanon; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Beth Puckett of Smithville, Wanda (Ray) Dunham, Jr. of Dowelltown, Rodney (Phyllis) Vanderpool of Centertown and Lorraine Webb of Nashville; several nieces and nephews.

 

Funeral services were conducted 2 p.m. on Nov. 20, at DeKalb Funeral Chapel.

 

Bro. Jeff Armstrong officiated with burial following in Whorton Springs Cemetery.

 

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Smithville Church of God Youth Fund, in memory of Brenda.

 

Pallbearers included; Naith Puckett, James Webb, Chris Tramel, Ted Hillebrand, Graden Kirksey, and Steve Quick.

 

DeKalb Funeral Chapel, Smithville was in charge of the arrangements
