Bruce Aaron Lewis, 79, of Smithville passed from this life on Friday, August 12, 2022, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.
Bruce was born Thursday, March 4, 1943, in Jacksonville, Florida, and he was the son of the late Dero Lewis and the late Verda (Manier) Lewis.
Bruce was a loving son, brother, husband, father, Pa, uncle, and friend. He was known as the "mule man". He loved to judge mule shows, and participate in wagon rides. He was a farmer for most of his life, where he had livestock. Bruce was loved by all that knew him and he will be greatly missed.
Bruce is survived by his wife of 26 years, Sandra (Sharpe) Lewis; 2 Children, Sheri Womack and her husband, Cole, and Amy Forst and her husband Jarrett; 2 Step-Children, Rhonda Ware, and Angela Henry and her husband Kevin; 3 Grandchildren, Grant Womack, Gavin Womack, and Claire Forst; 6 Step-Grandchildren, Bret Ware, Ben Ware, Collin Sweeton, Keeley Sweeton, Kyler Sweeton, and Ava Wilson; 2 Great-Step-Grandchildren, Brantley Sweeton, and Hunter Sweeton; 2 Brothers, Wayne Lewis and his wife Peggy, and Billy Lewis; A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends.
Graveside service will be held Wednesday, August 17, 2022, at 2:00 pm at Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. Interment will follow the service.
Visitation with the family will be held Wednesday, August 17, 2022, from 11:00 am until the time of service at 2:00 pm at Crest Lawn Funeral Home.
Crestlawn, Sparta, was in charge of the arrangements.
