Burton Jones, age 75, of the Green Hill area passed away, Friday, August 12, 2022 in Nashville at Alive Hospice, following a brief illness.

 

He was born in McMinnville August 19, 1946. He was a retired farmer and nurseryman. He was a member of the Bluff Springs Church of Christ and was previously a member of the Keltonburg Church of Christ where he served as an elder. He was a vendor at the Warren County Farmers Market for 25 years.

 

Preceding him in death were his parents Brackett and Chloe Stoner Jones; a brother, Clifton Jones; and seven sisters, Frances Wilson, Opal Cantrell, Geraldean Reynolds, Arlene Oakley, Johnnie Jones, Faye Hobbs and Brenda Gail Bouldin.

 

Surviving is his loving wife of 56 years, Lena Jones of the Green Hill area; two sons; Danny (Penny) Jones, Teddy (Amanda) Jones both of the Green Hill area; one daughter; April (Wes) Winton of Winchester; eight grandchildren, Danielle Glaeser, Gabrielle Locke, Dreama Leemis, Dillon Jones, Dana Jones, Breanna Jones, Julie Winton, and Issac Winton;  five great grandchildren, Scarlett Glaeser, Preston Leemis, Evie Leemis, Sophia Leemis, and Brimlee Jones; several nieces and nephews also survive. 

 

 

Funeral service was held M Sunday, August 14, 2022 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Teddy Jones, April Winton and Wes Winton officiating. Burial followed in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. 

 

Pallbearers included Jack Adcock, Travis Jones, Greg Reynolds, Michael Bain, Eric Bouldin, Isaac Winton, Dillon Jones, and Miquel Rodriquez.

 

DeKalb Funeral Chapel, Smithville, was in charge of the arrangements.
