Funeral services for Buster B. Chapman, 80, of Smithville were held May 23 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Bro. Wade West, Bro. Robert Presley, and Bro. BJ Tomason  officiated with burial following at DeKalb Cemetery. 
Mr. Chapman passed away May 20 at NHC HealthCare Center in Smithville. He was a logger and a member of the People’s Pentecostal Church, where he served as a deacon.  
He was preceded in death by his parents, Horace and Susie Vanatta Chapman; a sister, Maudie Thomason; and two brothers, William and Jessie Chapman.
Survivors include his his wife of 29 years, Mary D. Chapman of Smithville; daughters, Sandra Ponder, Tammy Dyer, Eva (Tim) Dover all of Smithville; sons, Joshua Chapman of Smithville, Danny (Cindy) Tatrow of Grutreli Logger, and Rodney (Lana) Tatrow of Sevierville; nine grandchildren, Bradley Tatrow, Kyle Tatrow, Alexis Tatrow, Cassandra Dyer, Miranda Dyer, Wesley Tatrow, Danielle Tatrow, Luke Tatrow, and T.J. Pascal; great-grandchild, Emmaline Grace Tatrow; two brothers, Cordell Chapman of Smithville and Toy B, Chapman of Gassaway; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers included Bradley Tatrow, Kyle Tatrow, Wesley Tatrow, T.J. Pascal, Scott South, Tim Dover, Paul Hutchens, and C.J. Tramel.
Serving as honorary pallbearers were the members of DeKalb County EMS. 
DeKalb Funeral Chapel, Smithville was in charge of the arrangements.
