Funeral service for Calvin Bain, Jr., age 77, of Smithville were held December 28, 2017 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Bros. J.T. Padget and Dutch Scott officiated with burial following in Bethel Cemetery.

Mr. Bain went to his reward Sunday morning, December 24, 2017 at his residence.

Calvin, who was known as "Junior" by friends and family, was born March 30, 1940 to his parents, the late Calvin and Lucille Stanley Bain.

Junior was a drywall contractor for 54 years. Junior was known and loved by many. He was a member of New Life Church in Manchester.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Gary Bain; three brothers, Tillman and Charlie Bain and James Edward Tidwell.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Loretta Bain of Smithville; four children, Dolores Taylor, Kay (Delane) Lawson both of Smithville, Denise (Mark) Nichols of Lebanon and Larry (Lisa) Bain of Calhoun, GA; grandchildren, Jeremy (Alison) Taylor, Olivia Taylor, Johnna Hale, Rocky Cantrell, Rachel (Joe) Lynch, Isaac and Adam Bain, Lena, and Sierra Nichols; great-grandchildren, Cassidy Orcutt, Landon Hutchins, Raven Hale, Kaylin Hale, Lily, Chloe and Rocky, Jr. Cantrell and baby John Luke Taylor; three brothers, Frankie Bain of Bowling Green, KY, Timmy Tidwell of Bradyville and Allen Tidwell of KY; three sisters, Ruby Mathis of Woodbury, Christine Smith of Portland and Joanne Campbell of Woodbury; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Pallbearers included Jeremy Taylor, Rocky Cantrell, Frankie Bain, Bruce Neal, Ed Tatum, and Delane Lawson.

DeKalb Funeral Chapel, Smithville, was in charge of the arrangements.
