Mr. Calvin Urias LaFever, age 86, of Sparta passed way Friday morning at Ascension St. Thomas West in Murfreesboro.

 

He was the owner of Nashville Computer Service and a member of the Smithville First Baptist Church. He was a National Guard veteran and a member of the National Association of Accountants. 

 

Mr. LaFever was born on July 6, 1936 to his parents, the late Verble and Lula Dunn LaFever. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie LaFever and brother, U.L. LaFever. 

 

Survivors include his sister, Louise (Jack) Phelps of Antioch;  two nephews, Bobby (Christie) Phelps of Murfreesboro and Eugene LaFever of McMinnville; fiancé, Merle Sandlin of Smithville; two great nephews, Austin and Alex Phelps of Murfreesboro and Sarah Beth LaFever of Knoxville; special family, Mary Jo Puckett of Smithvile and Ted and Jenny Sauls of Murfreesboro; and special friend, Shannon Parker of Sparta. 

 

Funeral service for Mr. Lafever was held on Sunday, January 8, 2023 from the chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home.

 

A graveside service was held Monday, January 9, 2023 @ 11am at Oaklawn Cemetery in Sparta where Sister Faye Tucker officiated.

 

Pallbearers included Shannon Parker, Ted Souls, Austin & Alex Phelps, Ronnie Rogers, David Barnes and Darrell Kirby.

 

Love-Cantrell Funeral Home, Smithville, was in charge of the arrangements.
