Carroll “John” Clemons, 65, of Alexandria, died Wednesday morning, Nov. 14, at Select Specialty Hospital in Nashville. He was born in Putnam County, was a member of Prosperity Baptist Church, and was an employee of Brentwood Post Office for 26 years. He was preceded in death by a son, Christopher Clemons in 1980; his father, Luther Clemons; and brothers Daryl and James Lynn Clemons.Carroll is survived by his wife Linda Cook Clemons of Alexandria; daughters Joyce (Ronald) Kelly of Brush Creek and Stephanie McGee; grandchildren Brady and Caleb McGee, Reilly, Makenna and Ryan Kelly; great-granddaughter Lyren Clark; his mother Stella Dyer Clemons of Sparta; sisters Wanda Kelly of Cookeville and Mary Sue (Steve) Hillis of Rock Island; and mother-in-law Lottie Cook.Funeral services were held on Nov. 17 at Hunter Funeral Home with Rev. Don Rigsby officiating.
