Funeral services for Carter Glen Davenport, 92, of Liberty were held Dec. 28 at the chapel of Anderson Funeral Home, Alexandria. Bros. Dewey Dyer and Ronnie Smith officiated with burial following at Salem Cemetery.
Mr. Davenport passed away Dec. 26 at his residence. He was born on Sept. 7, 1920 in DeKalb County to the late Carter B. Davenport and Willie Macon Foutch. Mr. Davenport was a veteran of the U.S.  Army,  a carpenter and a member of New Hope Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Hilda Luciel and Ruth Marie; brothers Lonnie, Cordell and John Henry; brother-in-law Howard Granstaff; and daughter-in-law Betty Davenport.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years Lucille Mathis Davenport of Alexandria; children Larry Glenn Davenport, Mickey Don (Jenifer) Davenport; Hugh Dwain (Teri) Davenport and Leanne (Jimmy) McGill, all of Alexandria; grandchildren Wesley, Brian, J.R., Chris, Heather, Timothy, Benjie, Brad, Jennifer, Matt, Brandon, Rachel and Micah; great-grandchildren Travis, Autumn, Alan, Jackson, Gabriel, Lane, Lydia, Isaiha, Aniah, Ellie, Nolan, Emmy, Rellon, Andrew and Mahala; brother Clarence (Jimmy) Davenport; sisters Helen (Carlos) Warden and Earlene (Garland) Estes; sisters-in-law Violet Davenport and Mainelle Derting.
Anderson Funeral Home, Alexandria,  was in charge of the arrangements.
