Cecil Edward Judkins, born 9-17-1950, native and resident of DeKalb County, died April 1, 2016 from an extended illness at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital, in Murfreesboro, TN.

 

He was the son of Margaret Bennett Judkins Bain (Troy), of Smithville, TN, and Cecil Herbert Judkins (Dorothy) of Hazel Green, AL. who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by grandparents, Perry Green and Callie Pinegar Judkins, Roger Bennett and Lavonia Martin Bennett Evans (Robert), and brother, Troy Edward Bain.

 

He is survived by his sister, Ponzella Judkins Redmon (Dwayne); sons, Jamie Lee Judkins of McMinnville, TN, John Baxter Judkins of Nashville, TN; daughters, Jana Dell Judkins Lance (Troy), Jeannie Linde Judkins Cook (Rob), both of McMinnville, TN; one grandson, Graedon Judkins, of Morrison, TN; several step-grandchildren; nephews, Walter Redmon, T. J. Bain, and Dalton Bain of Smithville, TN; nieces, LaTroya Key of Sparta, TN, Shana Key of Smithville, TN; several great nieces and nephews also survive.

 

He was former co-owner of Centertown Market, J&D Hardware, and Warren County Speedway.

 

He was a former employee of Genesco, Inc., Carrier Corp, Nissan Motor Manufacturing, Federal Mogul and Tenneco.

 

He was a member of the Church of Christ.

 

At his request, Mr. Judkins will be cremated. A “Celebration of Life Memorial” will be scheduled at a later date.

 

In lieu of flowers, Mr. Judkins would want donations made to ASPCA or DeKalb Animal Coalition.
