Funeral services for Charles Brigham Ayers, 77, of Smithville were held Dec. 22 at Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Bro. Kenneth Clayton  officiated, with burial following at  Snow Hill Methodist Cemetery.
Mr. Ayers passed away Dec. 19 at his residence.
He was a retired US Army Veteran and was affliated with the Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Callie Moore Ayers; daughter, Cathy Darlene Ayers; brother, Edward Ayers; nephew, Gary Wayne Cripps.
He is survived by two daughters, Tammy (Carl) Tyler of Smithville, Tina (David) Pedigo of Dowelltown; three grandchildren, Dustin Pedigo of Dowelltown, Amber (Tony) Prater and Jacob Tyler both of Smithville; special great-granddaughter, Cali Rose Prater of Smithville; sister  Willie Jim Cripps and brother, Joe Ayers both of Dowelltown; two nephews, Dwight Cripps of Dowelltown and Jerald (Lisa) Cripps of Liberty. Long-time special friends, whom he considered part of his family, JoAnn Pittman, Angie Meadows, Brandon and Stephanie Rackley.
Pallbearers included: Dustin Pedigo, Jacob Tyler, Tony Prater, Brandon Rackley, Jerald and Jordan Cripps.
Love-Cantrell Funeral Home, Smithville, was in charge of arrangements.
