Funeral services for Christine Colwell Smithson, 81, of Smithville, were held March 29 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Bro. Terry Little and Bro. John Carpenter officiated with burial following in DeKalb Memorial Gardens.    
Mrs. Smithson passed away March 26 at DeKalb Community Hospital emergency room. She was a secretary, a sporting goods representative, worked at the doctors building and was affiliated with Smithville First United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Edna Certain Colwell; husband, Bob Smithson; sisters, Lucille Hendrixson and Lillian Robinson; brothers-in-law, J.D. Hendrixson and C.A. Robinson; and a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jack and Helen Smithson.
Survivors include her brothers, Frank (Mary) Colwell of Smithville and Felty (Sarah) Colwell of Scottsville, Ky.; sisters, Charlene (Herbert) Pipkin of LaFayette and Rose (Paul) Dillen of Smithville; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers included Dewain Hendrixson, Derrick Colwell, Denton Colwell, David Colwell, Blake Colwell, Stan Pipkin and Lowell Robinson.
DeKalb Funeral Chapel, Smithville, was in charge of the arrangements.
