Claspell

 

Funeral services for Fred "Willard" Claspell, 62, of Smithville were held Dec. 14 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel.

 

Glen Evans officiated.

 

He passed away Dec. 9 at his residence after a short illness.

 

He was born March 22, 1952 in Muncie, Indiana to his parents, James and Lola Claspell.

 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one grandson, Chase Powers; four sisters, Loretta, Roberta, and Bernadetta Claspell and Jeanie Winningham.

 

Fred attended Muncie, Indiana schools, and worked at Concannons Bakery, where he was a Master Baker from 1970 until 1989. In 1989 Fred moved to Smithville and worked at Star Manufacturing and Walker Manufacturing until he became disabled. He was a Jehovah’s Witness.

 

Survivors included three daughters, Andrea (James) Campbell of Smithville, Jamie (Matt) Koch of Delaware, and Jennifer (Todd) Huxhold of Indiana; one step-son, David (Christina) Powers of Indiana; nine grandchildren, Dustin Jennings, Morgan Batey, Damien Phelps, Cody Koch, Leah Koch, Tristian Campbell, Tyler Campbell, Sadye Power and Dakota Power; three sisters, Barbara Beaty of Indiana, Carolyn Winningham of Tennessee and Marilyn Brenner of Indiana; several nieces and nephews also survive.
