Funeral services for Clata Rhea Tallent Redmon, 68, of the Jefferson community were held Feb. 11 at the chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Bros. Trent Colwell and Bryan Jones officiated with burial following at DeKalb Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Redmon passed away Feb. 9 at her residence. She was a former employee of Prospect, Inc., affiliated with Smithville Church of the Nazarene, and a co-founder of the DeKalb County Children’s Service Council.
She was preceded in death by her parents Roy Salomon and Bessie Lee Young Tallent; brother Leroy Tallent; and nephew Lynn Tallent.
Survivors include her husband of 45 years, Leonard Redmon of Smithville; two daughters Wanda Redmon and Grady Prichard of Smithville and Vonda and Glen Brown of Smithville; two grandchildren Halea Brown and Dustin Brown of Smithville; a brother Leonard and Joyce Tallent of Smithville; caretakers Kelly Cantrell and Lisa Baker; nieces and nephews; and a host of friends and neighbors.
Pallbearers included Jared Knowles, Gabriel and Chad Colwell, Daniel Seiber, Joel Moore and Billy Stacy.
Love-Cantrell Funeral Home, Smithville, was in charge of the arrangements.
