Memorial services for Dawn Allison Clayton, 52, of Smithville were held Aug. 22 at the Chapel of DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Glenn Evans officiated.

She passed away Aug. 18 at her residence.

She was born October 1, 1962 to John and Minta DeYoung DeVries.

Dawn was preceded in death by her husband, George B. Clayton.

She was Jehovah’s Witness and disabled.

Survivors include her parents, John and Minta DeVries of Smithville; three brothers, John Devries of Smithville, Randall (Sherry) DeVries of Woodbury, Eric (Melonie) DeVries of Dowelltown; one sister, Jenny (Glenn) Evans of Smithville; several nieces and nephews; three sister-in-laws, Valarie (Dennis) Leasure of Smithville, Jodie Jones of Smithville, and Diane (Ted) Sokol of Massachusetts; two brothers-in-law, John Teed of Virginia and Jeremy Clayton of Dowelltown.
