Funeral services for Clifton Ray Dexter, 69, of Smithville, were held July 15 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Bro. Doyle Slager officiated with burial following in DeKalb Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Dexter passed away July 14 at Kindred Nursing and Rehabilitation in Smith County. He served in the U.S. Army, was a telephone line installer, was in the Christian Motorcycle Association and was affiliated with Prosperity Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clifton J. Dexter; a son, Gary Ray Dexter; and a daughter, Delisa Sue Dexter.
Survivors include his daughter, Tina (James) Boston of Dowelltown; grandchildren, Ashley and Anthony Bain, Dakota and Savanah Dexter, all of Smithville; great-grandchild, Natalya McCarty of Smithville; mother, Euphema Dexter of Cookeville; brother, James Kenny (Wanda) Dexter of Cookeville; and a sister, Janie (Eddie) Bain of McMinnville.
Pallbearers included Anthony Bain, Kevin Malone, James Boston, Scotty Bain, Jay Currin and Ryan Slager.
Serving as a honorary pallbearer was Dakota Dexter.
DeKalb Funeral Chapel, Smithville, was in charge of the arrangements.
