Collins

Marcelle "Doris" Collins, 86, of Fort Lauderdale Fla. passed away Jan. 6 at the Holy Cross Catholic Hospice Care.

She was born November 15, 1928 in Lawrence, MA.

She fought a long battle with a life-threatening illness.

She moved to South Florida in 1968, and would retire after a career with Motorola in Plantation, Fla. She lived a short time in Smithville with her mother, and attended St. Gregory’s Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George Lavigne and Armosa Dubois Lavigne of Lawrence, MA., a sister, Maria Gloria Henderson and a daughter, Dorothy Marie Collins.

Survivors include her children: Daughters, Patricia Wilt and Margaret Collins and sons, David John and Joseph Paul, three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren and nieces and a nephew.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Doris was an avid reader so any donations may be made to your local public library in her memory.
