Crook
Doris Terrell Crook passed away at DeKalb Community Hospital on November 23 at the age of 84.
Doris was the third child of Robert and Lucille Herndon. She is preceded in death by her father, Robert R. Herndon, and her mother, Lucille Herndon; her husband, Bernice E. Terrell, father of her two sons, David R. and Terry W. Terrell; her husband, W.C. Crook; her son, Terry W. Terrell; and her brothers, James C. and Russell Herndon.
She is survived by her son, David R. Terrell (Vicky) of Smithville; grandchildren, Justin H.Terrell (Emily) of Fairburn, GA, Roth Terrell (Jessica) of Smithville, Julie Puryear (Charles) of Memphis, and John Terrell of Chattanooga; great-grandchildren, Kate Puryear of Memphis, and Sadie Lynn Terrell of Fairburn, GA; and a host of other relatives.
In addition to being a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she was a loyal friend to many. Her faithful caregiver and friend for many years was Christine Bain of Smithville.
Her later years were spent as a very active family member of the Webb House Assisted Living in Smithville.
As a Christian by faith, she was a member of the Smithville First Baptist Church for more than 70 years, and served on the nursery and friendship committees for many years.
Dr. Justin H. Terrell officiated. The service was held on Tuesday, Nov. 25 at 11 a.m. at the Smithville First Baptist Church.
Burial was in DeKalb Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, gifts can be given to Smithville First Baptist Church TV ministry.
