Dannie Haley, age 85, of Woodbury went home to be with the Lord Saturday morning, January 27, 2024 at his home.
He was born October 6, 1938 in Woodbury, to his parents, the late James Carl Haley and Lucille Gilley Haley Pursell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Sam Pursell; daughter, Pamela Haley and brother, Jimmy Haley.
Dannie was a member and deacon at Sycamore Baptist Church. He retired from Hartmann Luggage and the Cannon County Highway Dept.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Nancy Haley of Woodbury; daughter, Vicki (Lanny) Sandlin of Liberty; two grandchildren, Amy (Derrick) Campbell of Brush Creek and Hunter Sandlin of Liberty; two great-grandchildren, Hayley and Hudson; three sisters-in-law, Marie Seabaugh of Woodbury, Helen Rhodes of North Carolina and Alberta Lafever of Woodbury; brother-in-law, Ben (Wilma) Lafever of Woodbury.
Funeral service was held Tuesday, January 30, 2024 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Richard Williams and Bro. Michael Hale officiating. Burial followed at Sycamore Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers were Oliver Owens, Terry Hicks, Harmon Yokely, John Sandlin, Barry Lafever, Donnie Melton, and David Dodd.
DeKalb Funeral Chapel, Smithville, was in charge of the arrangements.
