Danny Martin Parker, age 77, of Sparta passed away on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at St. Thomas DeKalb Hospital.

Born on April 19, 1948, in Smithville, he was the son of the late Ernest Martin and Nancy Lucille Parker. In addition to his parents, Danny was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Cathy Parker and brother, Albert Parker. 

Danny dedicated his career to Mallory Timers and General Mills before retiring. He was a lifetime member Volunteer Firefighter and a member of Wolf Creek Baptist Church.

He is survived by his sons, Marty Parker (Amy Smythe) of Woodbury and Shannon (Michelle) Parker of Sparta. He leaves behind grandchildren, Kalene (Storm) Farley of Sparta, Braxton Parker of Cookeville, and Brantley Parker of Sparta, as well as step-grandchildren Kyle Kramer, Lauren Clark, Brandon Cook, Zach Cook, Jordan Cook, Tracey Deck, and Allen Arnold. His brother, Lee (Janie) Parker of Sparta, along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins, also survive him.

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 11, at 1pm in the chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home with Bro. Tim Judd officiating. Burial will follow in Peeled Chestnut Cemetery.
