David Gray Vanderpool, age 77, of Liberty passed away Saturday March 14, 2020 at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro. 

 He was born July 14, 1942 to his parents, the late James Frank and Lora Dell Mathis Vanderpool.  Mr. Vanderpool was a retired truck driver for 19 years for Fakes & Hooker Lumber Co. in Lebanon and a member of Cave Springs Missionary Baptist Church. 

 Survivors include brother, Randy (Kim) Vanderpool of Liberty; and niece, Brianna Cumming of Carthage. Several cousins also survive. 

 Funeral service was held Tuesday at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bros. Charles Allen Gentry and Michael Hale officiating. Burial followed in Sycamore Cemetery in Woodbury. 

 Serving as pallbearers were Dave Butterbaugh, Van Mathis, Riley Tramel, Reece Tramel, Ronnie Turner and Danny Cowan.

 DeKalb Funeral Chapel, Smithville, was in charge of the arrangements.
