Funeral services for David "Larry" Hilderman, 82, of Smithville, and a native of Florida, were held Dec. 23 at the Chapel of DeKalb Funeral Chapel.

Bro. Dwayne Cornelius officiated, with burial following in DeKalb Memorial Gardens with Military Honors conducted by the Veterans Honor Guard.

He passed away Dec. 20 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

He was born September 28, 1933 to the late David and Anna Louise Creech Hilderman, Jr.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Michael Stanley Hilderman, and a brother, Jimmy Hilderman.

Larry was retired from Bell South as a switch man, attended New Life Pentecostal Church and was a U.S. Army Veteran.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Lois Hilderman of Smithville; three children, Judy Lynn (Robert) Howard of Oak Grove, Missouri, Bobby (Cindy) Hilderman of Columbia, IN, and Wendell Hilderman of Sevierville; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary Lou Evans of West Palm Beach, FL,; one brother, Donald Hilderman of Florida; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Pallbearers included; Jimmy Cornelius, Andrew Cornelius, Logan Cornelius, Nevin Huggins, Tim West, and Bob DePriest.

DeKalb Funeral Chapel, Smithville was in charge of the arrangements.
