Funeral services for David Lee Vanatta, 57, of Woodbury, were held Nov. 22 at the chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home. Bro. Richard Williams officiated with burial following in Sycamore Cemetery.
Mr. Vanatta passed away Nov. 19 at his home after a short illness. He was born in DeKalb County on Dec. 20, 1953. He was a member of the Sycamore Baptist Church and an employee of Woodbury Farmers Co-op.
He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Vanatta; his foster aunt, Alevia Vanatta; and his brothers, Jerry and Charles Vanatta.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda Davenport Vanatta, of Woodbury; three children, Tracy Vanatta, of Jacksonville, Fla., Danny (Jo Ann) Vanatta, of Dowelltown, and Vanessa (Vince) Shrum, of Woodbury; three grandchildren, Dusty Vanatta, Corey Sherman and Rebekka Shrum; five sisters, Peggy Bissonette, Linda Davis and Carolyn Neal, all of Smithville, Pam Rice and Crystal Lloyd, both of Smyrna; sister-in-law, Judy Vanatta, of Smithville; and a step-mother, Josephine Vanatta, of Smyrna. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Woodbury Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
