Dean Alan Casselberry, age 78, passed away May 25, 2021 at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro. He was born in Panama on Oct. 31, 1942. He grew up in Clinton County, Pennsylvania and graduated from Bald Eagle Nittany High School. Dean served in the United States Army and the Reserves. He became a resident of DeKalb County in the 1970’s. He owned and operated Dean’s Hardware Store and a cattle farm. Dean became a resident of Rutherford County in the 1990’s. He retired after 25 years from Murfreesboro City Schools working in HVAC maintenance.

 

Dean was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore Edward Casselberry and Grace Casselberry Remington.

 

He is survived by his wife, Julie Mae Briscoe; sons, Brian C. Casselberry, David A. Casselberry; daughters, Bridgette D. (Leo) McClaran, Linda D. Casselberry, Brenda D. Casselberry; sisters, Doris Marie O’Neill, Connie Lou Glass; grandchildren, Brian Keith, Erin Nicole Casselberry, Samara, Jaden, Lily Ruth and Gideon McClaran; and great-grandchildren, Kallie and Keelan Casselberry; as well as nieces, nephews, and great nieces, nephews.

 

Visitation with the family will be held on Saturday, June 12, 2021 from 9:00 AM until the Celebration of Life Service at 10:00 AM at Christian Life Church.

 

Jennings and Ayers Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Murfreesboro, is in charge of the arrangements.
