Deborah Godfrey Tuggle, 64, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 3, 2016 after a courageous 4-year battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her family.

She was a native of Washington, NJ and graduated from Eastern Carolina University with a degree in Medical Technology. Later in life, she pursued her dream and passion for arts by attending the Appalachian Center for Craft, receiving her BFA in Fiber Arts from Tennessee Technological University.

Debbie leaves behind her husband, Mickey Tuggle of Smithville; daughter Dylan (Peter) Thriffiley, New Orleans, LA, son Jonah Tuggle, Chattanooga, Jonah’s girlfriend, Jessica Tolliver, parents, Jack and Nancy Godfrey, Washington, NJ, and her most precious grandson, Thompson Thriffiley, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, John (Mickey) Godfrey and Daniel W. Godfrey and sister-in-law, Kimberley Godfrey.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or Be the Match (National Marrow Donor Program).
