Rutherford

Delbert Lee Rutherford, affectionately known as Scott, of Smithville, Tennessee, passed away at the age of 72 on February 27 with his family by his side after a courageous battle fighting lung cancer.

He is survived by his loving wife, Pat Rutherford of Smithville, his son, Anthony John Rutherford (Karen) and three grandchildren, Katie Rutherford, Justin Rutherford, and Carly Rutherford of Lilbum, GA and his daughter, Angela Rutherford Borrell (Tim) of Atlanta, GA.

After spending time in the Army, Scott dedicated 30 years of service to Ford Motor Company. He retired in 1998, but his love of Ford vehicles endured. In his free time, he was a voracious reader and an amateur historian.

A native of Port Huron, Michigan, he was a fan of the Michigan Wolverines and Detroit Tigers.

His infectious laugh and smile will be missed by all who knew him.

Mr. Rutherford’s wishes were that he be cremated. No services are planned locally.
