54 year old Dennis “Porky” Ellis of Smithville passed away Friday, February 26, 2016 at Vanderbilt Hospital.

He was born December 30, 1961 to Freddie Ellis and Catherine Summers Ellis.

He was preceded in death by his step-father, Lynn Newby; brother, Steven Ellis; paternal grandparents, Charles and Lola Hawker Ellis; maternal grandparents, Jack and Lennie Reeder Summers.

He is survived by his mother, Catherine Newby of Smithville; father, Freddie Ellis of Mt. Juliet; daughter, Natosha and husband David Miller; two grandchildren, Autumn Reinhart and Steven Miller both of Liberty; two brothers, Shannon Newby of Smithville, and Joseph Ellis of Mt. Juliet.

Dennis’s wishes were that he be cremated.

A visitation with the family was held Monday, February 29, 2016.

There were no services planned.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the charity of your choice in memory of Dennis.

Love-Cantrell Funeral Home, Smithville were in charge of the arrangements.
