Eighty-one year old Donald Eugene Minnear of Smithville died Saturday at his residence. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, a member of the Faith Tabernacle Pentecostal Church, and a retired employee of Love Manufacturing.

 

 

 

The funeral was held May 29, 2016 at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Jerry Braswell will officiate and burial will be in the Minnear Cemetery.

 

 

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie and Mary Pedigo Minnear; a son, Woody Minnear; a grandson, Michael Minnear; two brothers, Lewis and Eurbye Minnear; and five sisters, Betty and Sue Minnear, Reba Shehane; Eunice Banks; and Helen Leftrick.

 

 

 

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Peggy Minnear; two sons, Eugene and Joy Minnear; a daughter, Tammy and Bill Quistgaard; six grandchildren, Rebecca Hodges, Caleb Minnear, Jonathan Conaster, Clint Cope, Marly and Alex Campbell, and Lily Quistgaard; three great grandchildren, Keagan, Karley, and Ava; a sister, Marilyn Caldwell; two special nieces, Vivian and Wayne Hill and Renee and Charles Hobbs all of Smithville. Several nieces and nephews and church family survive.

 

 

 

Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
