Donald Ray Pack, age 75 of Smithville, passed away Monday March 28, 2016 at St. Thomas River Park Hospital in McMinnville.  Born December 29, 1940 to his parents the late Harvey and Josie Merritt Pack.

 

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Clifford Pack and mother-in-law Christine Magness. 

 

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Ann Magness Pack of Smithville;  daughter Donnette Pack of Smithville; 3 nieces, Deborah (Larry) Hancock, Dianna Adams, Darlene (Frank) Evans all of Smithville; 1 nephew Daniel Pack of Smithville.

 

He was a Baptist and attended Indian Creek Baptist Church.  He owned and operated Donald Pack Construction for over 30 years and served as DeKalb County Road Supervisor from 1982-1990. 

 

Funeral services were conducted Friday, April 1, 2016 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Bro. Doyle Slager, Bro. Michael Hale and Sue Puckett officiating and entombment followed in DeKalb Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.

 

Pallbearers: Larry Hancock, Chris Hancock, Travis Hancock, Daniel Pack, Todd Webb, and Mike Webb.

 

Honorary Pallbearers: John Henry Thweatt, Jimmy Taylor, Jerry Lee Cantrell, A.C. Johnson, David Redmond, Elmus Johnson, Charles Cantrell, Larry Webb, Dewayne Webb, Eddie Young, and Larry Maxwell.

 

In addition to flowers, family asked that donations be made to Gideons, Lighthouse Christian Camp or Charity of your choice.  

 

DeKalb Funeral Chapel, Smithville were in charge of the arrangements.
