Dorothy Coble Tittsworth, age 89, of Smithville passed away Thursday morning December 24, 2020 at the Webb House in Smithville.
She was born December 30, 1930 to her parents, the late Hartie Lee and Georgia Garner Coble.
She worked for over 40 years at TVA and was a member of the Smithville Church of Christ and a member in the Church of Christ for over 80 years. Ms. Tittsworth was a member of the Order of Eastern Star where she was Grand Matron, Master Toastmaster International, Study Club, she started the Red Hat Society in DeKalb County, and was very involved with the Red Cross blood drives.
She was born December 30, 1930 to her parents, the late Hartie Lee and Georgia Garner Coble. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Billy Tittsworth, Sr.; siblings, Frances Harris, Merry Noel, H.L. Coble and Alice Coble.
Survivors include son Ty (Debra) Tittsworth of Morrison; Sister: Virginia C. England of Big Sandy, TN; Brother-in-law: Brownie (Lillian) Tittsworth of Smithville; Sister-in-law: Betty Hale of Virginia Beech, VA.; 2 Grandchildren: Derrick Jones and Katlyn Brooks both of McMinnville; Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral service was held Sunday, Dec. 27, 2020 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Dan Gulley officiating. Burial followed in DeKalb Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers included Derek Jones, Jack Good, Gary Johnson, Bradley Johnson, Brownie Johnson, and Jay Stutts.
The family asked that donations be made to the Smithville Church of Christ or charity of your choice, in memory of Ms. Dorothy.
DeKalb Funeral Chapel, Smithville, was in charge of the arrangements.
