Griffith

Dorothy Griffith age 85 of Smithville, passed away Monday morning, December 12, 2016 at her residence. 

She was born December 14, 1930 to her parents, the late James Eston and Drussi Young Wright. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Griffith, Sr.; 2 brothers, Bobby and Nelson Wright; 1 sister, Audine Trapp. 

She attended the Bethel United Methodist Church and was a homemaker.  Survivors include 4 children, Lois (Chris) Christensen of Nebraska, Joyce Griffith of Smithville, Nadean (Allen) Talley of Spring City, TN and Walter, Jr (Betty) Griffith of Smithville; 4 grandchildren, Rebecca and Amanda Griffith, Jennifer Johnson and Amy (Adam) Raymond; 5 great-grandchildren, Dylan and Ashley Goodman, Alex Johnson, Aniston and Alexis Raymond; 1 brother, Lee Denton (Frankie) Wright of Cleveland, TN; 1 sister, Edna (Grady) Ellis of Alexandria. 

Funeral services were conducted Thursday, December 15, 2016 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel.

With burial following in Bethel Cemetery. 

Pallbearers included; Anthony Wright, Ray Trapp, Adam Raymond, Carl Wright, Michael Howell, and Bob Vantrease.

DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
