Funeral services for Dorothy Irene Caplinger, 79, of Smithville were held April 12, 2016 at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home.

Bro. Chris Long officiated, with burial following in DeKalb Memorial Gardens.

She passed away Saturday, April 9 at Vanderbilt Medical Center.

She was a homemaker, and affiliated with the Faith Congregational Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Vena Trap Carter; husband, Doyle Caplinger; grandson, Brian Doyle Pack; one sister, Beulah Mullican; two brothers, Robert and Walter Carter; father and mother-in-law, Delton and Elmer Caplinger.

She is survived by one daughter, Doylene Caplinger of Murfreesboro; one son, Charlie and Rhonda Caplinger of Smithville; two grandchildren, Michael and Jennifer Caplinger of Smithville; sister-in-law, Frankie and Jack Watkins of Smithville; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Pallbearers included; Mike Redmon, Randy Caplinger, Joe Carter, Ryan Hughes, David White, and Ronnie Garrison.

Love-Cantrell Funeral Home, Smithville were in charge of the arrangements.
