Funeral service for Doug Neal, age 71, of Smithville was held January 19, 2018 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Bros. Bernard Houk and Mike Adams officiated with burial following in Bethel Cemetery. 

Doug passed away Sunday morning, January 14, 2018 at his residence. He and his wife were the owners of All State Drywall and Painting; he was a Freewill Baptist and attended the Smithville First Freewill Baptist Church.

He was born January 22, 1946 to his parents, the late Clarence and Lillian Hale Neal. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one great-granddaughter, Gracie Colwell; one sister, Bobbie Jean Houk; and one brother, L.W. Neal. 

He is survived by his wife, Kathy Neal of Smithville; six children, Gayle Pack of Smithville, Bruce Neal of Smithville, Greg Neal of Smithville, Brian (Crystal) Neal of Smithville, Ronnie (Samantha) Neal of Cookeville and Nathan Neal of Florida; 11 grandchildren, Kerrie, Kayla, Alisha, Brice, Kerra, Seth, Brilee, Ricky; Also four sisters, Loretta Bain, Pat Sanders, Linda Knowles and Elaine McGuire, all of Smithville; special niece and caregiver, Deborah Page; and several nieces and nephews also survive. 

Pallbearers included Bruce Neal, Greg Neal, Brian Neal, Ronnie Neal, Nathan Neal, Seth Pack, and Ricky Pack. Roger Snyder, Allan Hale, and Brice Neal served as honorary pallbearers.

DeKalb Funeral Chapel, Smithville, was in charge of the arrangements.
