Funeral services for Doug Sandlin, 78, of Smithville were held Feb. 17 at the chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Bro. Tommy Taylor and Bro. Gary Caplinger officiated with burial following at DeKalb Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Sandlin passed away Feb. 15 at the Webb House. He was retired from the Smithville Shirt Factory and attended Gospel Lighthouse.
He was preceded in death by his parents Paul and Ruth Caplinger Sandlin; two brothers Gene and Garland Sandlin; and two aunts Ione Cantrell and Dean Summers.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law Jenny Lynn and Ted Sauls of Murfreesboro; ex-wife Merle Sandlin; two sisters Geneva and Tommy Taylor and Faye and Thomas Young; two special uncles Quinton and Frances Caplinger and Doston and Ruth Caplinger, all of Smithville; special cousin Billie Woodside of Dowelltown; nieces and nephews Lori Poss, Timothy Young, Melissa Prater, Nelson Sandlin, Lanny Sandlin and Donna Certain.
Pallbearers included Lanny and Nelson Sandlin, John and Cory Poss, Timothy Young, Jeff Woodside, Randy Caplinger and Ryan Hughes.
Love-Cantrell Funeral Home, Smithville, was in charge of the arrangements.
