Eddie Wayne Yelverton, 78, of Smithville departed this life on Thursday, July 20, 2023 at St. Thomas West Hospital.

He worked at Ford Glass Plant for most of his career and was co-owner of the Herb Cottage

He was born in Lebanon on Jan. 9, 1945 to his parents, Robert Yelverton and Lula Mae Shelton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Billy Shelton.

Eddie is survived by his wife of 47 years, Susie Yelverton of Smithville; his son, Wayne Yelverton of Watertown; his sisters, Aline Miller, June (Tim) Cripps; and his beloved family dog, Maggie May. 

Funeral service was held Friday, July 28, 2023 at the Chapel of Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria. Harold Pullaman officiated and burial followed in Hillview Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested a tree to be planted in his name.

Anderson Funeral Home, Alexandria, was in charge of the arrangements.
