Edna Ruth Hendrixson Colwell, 82, of Dowelltown passed away Wednesday morning, September 2, 2020 at her daughter’s residence.

 

Ms. Ruth worked at the shirt factory for 15 years and at Kingston Timers for 33 years and she was a member of Gospel Lighthouse Baptist Church and attended Covenant Baptist Church.

 She was born August 17, 1938 to her parents the late William Wiley and Connie Elvie Gibbs Hendrixson. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by husband, James Colwell; sister, Pauline Poss Cantrell; three brothers, Bill, Joe and Jack Hendrixson.

 She is survived by two children, David (Sue) Colwell of Dowelltown, and Diane (Terry) Hendrixson of Silver Point; five grandchildren, Angie Colwell (Scott) Campbell of Smithville, Suzanne (Jon) Harrison of Smithville, Tabitha Colwell(Tyler) Prohaska of Knoxville, Josh (Janda) Hendrixson of Smithville, Daniel Hendrixson (Natalie Martin) of Silver Point; nine great-grandchildren, Trey Fuston, Ashton Campbell, Peyton Campbell, Alex Campbell, Peyton Young, Morgan (Jeremy) Taylor, Olive Prohaska-Colwell, Otto Prohaska-Colwell, Mackenzie Faith Hendrixson; two sisters-in-law, Gerry Hendrixson of Gallatin, Ellen Colwell of Dowelltown; several nieces and nephews also survive; special care givers, Beth Pedigo Tripp, Melba Vinson, Barbara Conaster, Tammy Pack, and Tiffany Huggins.

 Funeral service was held Saturday September 5, 2020 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Royce Martin and Bro. Michael Hale officiating. Burial followed   in Snow Hill Baptist Cemetery. 

 Pallbearers included Trey Fuston, Josh Hendrixson, Ashton Campbell, Peyton Young, Terry Cathey, Jimmy Poss, Tim Colwell, and John Poss. Serving as honorary pallbearers were Micheal Cathey, Terry Hendrixson, Donnie Cadlwell, and Larry Caldwell.

 DeKalb Funeral Chapel, Smithville, was in charge of the arrangements.
