Funeral services for Mr. Charlie O. Edwards, 79, of Liberty were held Dec. 17 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Bros. Jimmy Arms and Van Richmond officiated, with burial following at Salem Cemetery.

Mr. Edwards passed away Dec. 14 at NHC Healthcare in Smithville.

He was the son of the late John and Dovie Manning Edwards.

He served in the Tennessee Air National Guard for 32 years as a radio technician, and was a member of Upper Helton Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sons Jeff and Greg Edwards; grandson David Davis, and several brothers and sisters.

Mr. Edwards is survived by his wife of 58 years, Shirley Edwards of Liberty; children Glenn Edwards of Nashville, and Dana (Butch) Davis of Dowelltown; grandchildren Bryan Davis and Bethany Davis; great-grandchild David Davis; sisters Grace Harris, Jean Ratcliff and Geneva Carter.

Pallbearers included Richard Sanders, Todd Sanders, Jamie Carter, Kenny Carter, Annie Carter and Ryan Davis.
