Funeral services, for Emma Lee Johnson, 91, of Smithville were held Sept. 3 at the chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Bro. Craig Mahler officiated with burial following at Whorton Springs Cemetery.
Ms. Johnson passed away Sept. 1 at DeKalb Community Hospital. She was retired from the Smithville Shirt Factory and was of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Bernard and Clara Mae Young Taylor; husband, Wilson Johnson; son, Ray Johnson; two sisters, Elizabeth Sandlin and Maureen Parsley; five brothers, Robert, Charlie, Manuel, Ben and E.J. Taylor.
Survivors include her three daughters, Kathleen Mahler of Sparta, Dorothy and Alton Haggard of Smithville, and Era and Harold Billings of Sparta; son, Jerry Johnson of Smithville; sister, Wilma Redmon of Smithville; two brothers, Tommy and Geneva Taylor of Smithville, Aubrey and Polly Taylor of Smyrna; 14 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers included Josh Hobbs, Mike Haggard, Donald Haggard, Nathan Pettit, Randal Mahler and Thomas Hutchings.
Serving as honorary pallbearer was Allen England.
Love-Cantrell Funeral Home, Smithville was in charge of the arrangements.
