Ernest Crook, Jr., age 77 of Smithville, passed away Wednesday night, July 10, 2019 at his residence. 

He was born June 4, 1942 to his parents, the late Ernestine and Ila Mai Clayton Crook. 

Junior was a Baptist, Truck Driver and a U.S. Army and National Guard Veteran. 

He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline Crook of Smithville; children, Kathy (Todd) Dodson and Ernie Crook both of Smithville; step-son, Jonathan Pedigo of Smithville; three step-grandchildren, Payton, Luke and Robert; sister, Linda Vickers of Woodbury; two brothers, Don (Carol) Crook of Smithville and Tim Crook of Liberty. 

A memorial service was held Friday, July 19, 2019 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Dan Gulley officiating. 

DeKalb Funeral Chapel, Smithville, was in charge of the arrangements.
