Eva Dean Wright, 87, of Cookeville, passed away Dec. 23 at NHC Healthcare Center in Smithville.
Mrs. Wright was born in Warren County on Feb. 21, 1925, daughter of the late Virgil (Jones) Cantrell and Rufuss Cantrell. She worked as a bookkeeper with GTE of Cookeville for over 15 years before retirement. She was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy. She enjoyed quilting, sewing and her crossword puzzles. She was a devoted, loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
Mrs. Wright is survived by her daughters Tenille Rowland and Paul of Smithville, Julie Franklin and Billy of Cookeville; grandsons Daniel Stanley, Seth Stanley, Caleb Stanley and Zach Rowland, all of Smithville, Cody Batson and Jared Batson, both of Sparta; niece Deborah Kurk and Alan of Knoxville; nephew Ronald Pelham of Knoxville; niece Johnnie B. Pelham-Hurd of Sparta; and a host of nieces, nephews and loved ones.
She was preceded in death by her husband Johney V. Wright; her parents; a brother Bill Cantrell; a sister Georgia Pelham; and a great nephew James Hurd.
Funeral services were held on Dec. 27 at Crest Lawn Funeral Home with Brother Freddie Harding officiating. Burial followed at Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery.
Crest Lawn Funeral Home-Cremation Center was in charge of the arrangements.
