Evelyn Getav Griffin,84, of Smithville died Tuesday at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville. She was owner of Griffin's Fruit Market and a member of the Johnson's Chapel Baptist Church. The funeral will be Friday at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Gary Farris and Kyle Anderson will officiate and burial will be in the Johnson's Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from noon until 8 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. until the service at 1 p.m. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Callie Jackson Looney; six sisters, Edith Cantrell, Mary Lou Robinson, Audie Maynard, Sally Cantrell, Pauline Billings, and Bill Maynard; and two brothers, James Reece Looney and Wilburn Looney. Survivors include a daughter, Jennifer and husband Joe Mitchell of Smithville. Granddaughter, Kallie and husband Holden Hood of Georgia. Great grandson, Caleb Hood of Georgia and a host of nieces and nephews. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
