Frances Gaines, 68, of Brush Creek died Wednesday at St. Thomas Rutherford.

The funeral was held Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Burial was in Salem Cemetery.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Priest and Layuna Rutland; her husband, Ralph Gaines; two sisters, Lula Ann Eddins and Mary Winfree; and two brothers, Lee Ray Rutland and Priest Rutland. Survivors include three daughters, Kathryn and Elliot Cason of Gordonsville, Tracy Seay of Brush Creek, and Carol and Trent Evans of Carthage. Eight grandchildren, Carlos O'Neal Gaines, Jazmyne Seay, Keaton Cason, Keaton and Kaelin Cason, Dakota McCloud, Ayerious Gaines, and Trenity Evans. Three great grandchildren, Layla Gaines, Ahveana Seay, and Kaleigha Carpenter. Three sisters, Emma and Charlie Corder of Lebanon, Helen and Tim Bates of Watertown, and Nottie White of Nashville. Special devoted friend, Tommy Bogle of Brush. One brother, Porter Rutland of Lebanon. Several nieces and nephews and cousins.

Pallbearers included: Devaunte Harlan, Dakota McCloud, Carlos Gaines, Elliott Cason, Trent Evans, Kaelin Cason.

DeKalb Funeral Chapel, was in charge of the arrangements.
