Frances R. (Olshefski) Crandall, 86, of Smithville passed away April 7 at the NHC Rehab Center in Smithville after a brief illness.Mrs. Crandall was the loving wife of the late David W. Crandall and daughter of the late Emilia and John Olshefski, and was born October 22, 1927 in Waterbury, Conneticut. She resided in Wolcott, Conneticut for many years before moving to Smithville, Tennessee in August of 1996.She graduated from Leavenworth High School and worked at the Waterbury Republican and American newspaper where she met her husband of almost 60 years.Her faith was strong in the promises of her Heavenly Father and she attended the Waterbury Bible Students Association and was dedicated since 1946.She leaves her son, Craig E. Crandall and her daughter-in-law, Natheene of Smithville and also a daughter, Diane C. Tatum and her son-in-law Michael of Lawrenceburg; sister, Mary Gray of Wolcott, Connecticut; and several nieces and nephews.In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded by two sisters, Betty O’Connor of Waterbury, Connecticut, Ann Mazanski of Naugatuck, Connecticut.Services and burial will be private.DeKalb Funeral Chapel, Smithville, was in charge of arrangements.SMITHVILLE REVIEWSmithville, TNApril 23, 2014
